Auto purge options

Hi

I wanted to know that if we select the auto purge option to purge to previous number of job runs in admin client, will the multi instant job status records in director delete to certain number mentioned.

i.e will some of the instances delete from the status view in director.(datastage 8.1 server job)

Can somebody confirm or correct me in this

Auto-purge takes no heed of instances.

Unless you specify number-of-runs, in which case an instance will be correctly and completely removed; the director entry will still be present, but the contents will be purged.
Autopurge on multiinstance jobs can cause problems if an autopurge is executed upon job completion and deletes log entries of a running job; the errors that occur are very hard to track down.

If all you're after is removing their listing in the Director, that takes a recompile of the base job (which nukes all) or you can 'Reset status file' on them, one by one, I believe. There's no automagic option that I recall.

You can delete the instance records from RT_STATUSnnn table.
