Datastage Version upgrades

Hi,

Currently we are using datastage 7.5 (client) in windows 2000. Later at some point os will be changed to Vista.

1.Can 7.5 be used in Vista Machine?

2.Is it necessary that the client and serve versions be same.

Vista came out after 7.5, and is not officially supported. I'm not certain if anyone has gotten it to work "unofficially".

I do have 8.1 installed on Vista 32-bit.

So can we install ds 8 client in Vista and can work with 7.5 in Server?

No, sorry, I should have been clearer in my reply. 8.1 can only access 8.1.

So I believe you'll either need to upgrade your DataStage release or downgrade your PC!

You can install multiple client versions, but you can only have one active at once. Switch between them using Multi Client Manager.
