Job(Code) Compare Tool in DataStage...

Post by kaps »

I would like to know if there is any tool to compare two Datastage jobs as we are having problem when we migrate jobs to production. I know we can export both jobs and do the text compare using a tool like ultra edit or something. Is there any other better way of doing this ?

Please advise.

Thanks.

That's interesting. So there is a job compare utility in 8.x. Good news.
Can you tell me which version particularly ? Is it in built in DS or Is it the one when DS is integrated with Clearcase ?

Thanks Craig...

I believe it is in all but I never saw 8.0, went straight to 8.1 instead. And no, Clearcase is versioning and unrelated.

Yes it's in 8.0 (and later, of course).

You can compare jobs or table definitions within the one project, you can compare jobs across projects. So it ideally suits your requirement.
