Is there performance gain when migrating from 7.x to EE 8.1

Post by datability_user »

Hi guys;

I have searched for more than 5 hours in here for my question, but did not get any clear answer for it,

My question is:
Is there any performance gain when migrating from server 7.x to EE 8.1, as server jobs?

Your help is highly appreciated

Thanx.

Define "performance" in an ETL context and we might be able to provide a better answer.

As a general rule server jobs will take the same time or slightly longer to complete in version 8.1 than they did in verion 7.x.

Thanks Ray; what i am asking is the run time difference between the two versions, and you have already answered my question.
I have read at some place on the internet that migrating from 7.x server to 8.1 will improve the performance (i am really do not remember the site or who write that) and i have spend more than 10 hours to find that site or that specific words but i failed, so i raised my question here, though may be someone will direct me to that place.

thanks

Not sure I'd worry about finding 'that place' again seeing as how they're wrong. Unless you wanted to let them know that. :wink:
