Licence distribution question...

Post by kaps »

I am not sure this is the correct forum to ask this question. Please redirect me If it does not belong here.

We have 4 dev and 4 test and 8 prod DataStage licences as of now.

We want to split this like 2 for dev, 2 for test1, 2 for test2 and 8 for prod.
I know the numbers does not match exactly but we are getting new P series servers thats more power than the existing ones so these all we get.

Do we need to talk to IBM for this or can we do it ourselves ? I am worried about the legal issues.

Thanks

Which 'license' are you talking about? Server CPU or client concurrent seat licenses?

Your servers (and DataStage) will use all CPUs, so if you want to stay compliant you'll need to ensure you have no more installed than your license allows.
