DataStage 8.1 Client Information

Hi Experts,

in Datastage 8.1 , is client and server are in same pack . OR do we get individually.

Please be more specific about what you mean by "pack". Are you asking about fix packs, or something else (maybe installation software)? Are you receiving your software on DVD or via download?

we are receiving via download.

IBM doing installation in new box. but we didn't have clients.

is there any way we can download client software separately from IBM site.

OR it's coming with server software.

You can get a client only install from IBM Passport Advantage if you just look for Information Server on the Windows platform. This is a useful installer to have as it's not as big as the combined server/client installer.

With 8, theres no separate installation for Client atleast for Windows.

Run Setup, you get a prompt to select the components -

1. Client
2. Engine
3. Services

Offcourse, on Windows, there must be some setup.exe called by the main installation program which could be run separately.

No R&D but with the production system. Hope, this helps.
