UsExecuting a Batch file in Datastage Sequence

Post by ramu1 »

Hi Friends,

I am having 3 job activities say A,B,C in my sequence ,
after running of these 3 Job activities, i had a requirement to execute some batch file to load the Job activity C Target table to another Table which will reside in Database.
Can I use Command Activity stage for executing the batch file to load Target table Data to Another Table in Database? or give me appropriate solution.

Please help me in this.

Thanks&Regards

Yes, you should use the command activity to run your batch outside of DataStage.

Technically, the Execute Command stage. That or Windows servers have a Command stage as well, from what I recall. Not really sure of the difference, though. :?

Command stage is executed for every row.

Ah... so the Windows 'Command' stage is a Server job stage? Figured it was yet another flavor of Sequence stage, which didn't really make much sense to me.
