Hi,
We have installed and configured DS8.0.1 on the server and when we are trying to connect the client ie., by opening the DS Designer by giving domain name, user name , password
we are getting this error C:\IBM\InformationServer\ASBNode\conf\registered-servers.xml (Access is denied)

Kindly Help

Few things:

1) Are you using the :9080 on the machine name?
2) Are you sure you want to install 8.0.1 and not 8.1?
3) Have you connected to the system using your web browser and setup
the default user on the system?

I've had this error before. It happens when another userid is used to access DataStage clients than the one who used the the first time and when permissions on the PC are set to be restrictive. Login with administrator rights to the PC and set permissions on the XML file.
