Number of I/P & O/P connection per transformer

Post by svga »

Hi,

Are there any limitation to the number of input and output connections and stage variables per transformer stage?

Number of connections yes, number of stage variables no.

How many do you want to have to maintain?

I have 35 inputs (lookups) & 35 output links. Will I have more impact on performance?

Every object in the job design is more work. Each link is an object.

Will the job get hanged if I use 35 i/p and 35 o/ps?. Pls give me the max no of connection (i/p & o/p) that is possible per transformer.

No, not simply because of that and any 'max' would be theoretical and based on too many factors to list here or worry about. A lookup is a lookup, whether it's 35 on one transformer or 35 split across two or more transformers. Perhaps with multiple transformers and IPC use so that multiple processes are created you would be better off, but the same amount of work would still be done.
