Error in importing Metadata from SQL Server table

Hi,
When I am trying to import metedata information using ODBC from MS SQL Server in DataStage I get follwoing error-
SQLConnect error: Status = -1 SQLState = 01000 Natcode = 145
[ODBC:145] [DataDirect][ODBC SQL Server Driver][libssclient22]ConnectionOpen (connect()).
I have done searching in the same forum and in some reply its mentioned as firewall issue.
Could anybody let us know what the exact setting required to resolve firewall issue? where do we need to perform changes to resolve this (MS SQL server machine or on DataStage Server machine)
Please reply asap.
