Job Hangs waiting for Status

Dear Guru's,

Recently, some of the jobs which is running through the control jobs not getting the status of the child Jobs even though the child job completed. Some times we are not able to open the child job category folder. Once we select the category folder it hangs. We are forced to kill the Datastage director. And we need to re-boot the server. It look very strange. This are the job run for months with out any problem. This all happening suddenly. And I checked with the server team asked for any patch update. They confirmed that nothing is done from there side.

I want to know. How come the parent Job not getting the status of the child job even though the child job completed successfully.

What proof do you have that the child job completed successfully, if you can't open its folder in Director?

Do the child jobs invoke after-stage or after-job subroutines?

Is your repository database in need of re-indexing?

Thanks Ray,

When we check the child Job we are able to seen the status =1 (Finished OK).

In the parent job (Server Job), we call 1 by 1 (child Job). This Child Job there is no mapping instead we are writing the scripts like check the file name if it is Ok. Then generate the output file with Header and footer with subtotal and etc.. We are having problem some times in this kind of Jobs only.

And one more thing. When this job gets hanged we are not able to open the Category folder also. IF you select the Category folder where this child job is there the Data Stage Directory also get hanged.
