Hi Everyone,
I am trying to call sqlplus from a script and executing query.
I want sqlplus to return only the data and no headers (column names) footers (number of rows returned). How can I suppress these?

sorry didn't mention it properly..... i wanted to see whether we could do with the command options...
tried to google on it, but not able to find.
Just curious, because the command options doesn't even have a way to set delimiter.
Am i searching it wrong ? or is it that we need to start sqlplus and ONLY THEN we could set these defaults?

The latter. These 'SET' commands need to either be in the sql you are executing or something standard you execute in your sqlplus interface before you execute the sql. You can also investigate the use of "login.sql" or "glogin.sql" files, they are like "rc" files for sqlplus.
ps. Found a nice FAQ here, copy and paste as the splat goofs up the linkage:
