Backup of the project

Post by raji »

Hi,

We are using Datastage 7.5.1 server jobs on Unix background.

I need to take the backup of the each job in the daily basis.

Will anyone suggest me the workaround to do this?

Thanks for your help.

You can export the jobs using Manager.

There is a command line utility for exporting jobs called "dscmdexport.exe" you can create a batch file and schedule it to run at any predefined time to automate your backups.

I have a daily BAT file which preserves two generation of export files. It deletes the older, renames the other and exports the entire project. It is run at a time when no developer activity is occurring in the project.

HI,

In Data Stage manager, Use Export-->datastagecomponens-->in Option button choose either by job or by category-->and then in component tab-->select job designs and executables...whichever you want. This you have to do it manually.

If you want to automate this process for daily basis, we need to write batch files for that.

Thanks,

Warm Regards
