Is there a Limit on Oracle Stages

Post by Ramona Reed »

I would like to know if anyone knows whether there is a limit on the number of Oracle stages you can have in one job. I have a job that has 18 Oracle stages on it, and I am getting a very weird error that doesn't indicate anything. The error is: main_program: Could not check all operators because of previous error(s) but there is not any errors in the log except that message.

Welcome. Let's confirm something - you've posted in the Server forum but marked the post as Parallel, what job type is this?

The only 'limit' I've seen is with the number of connections being made to any given Oracle instance at one time. Typically, you are better off using a minimum number of stages per source instance and using multiple links from/to the stages. That's more of a Server answer, however, so I'll let others chime in if you need PX advice.
