Scheduling

Hi
Guys:

Is there a way to make dataStage in windows environment to keep on checking if there is a file then run the job only if there is a file then when another files comes in run again and again whenever the is a file.

Hi,

In such a requirement you can make use of scheduling tools that are available.One of them is ControlM Scheduler.You can make use of file watchers to look out for source files.Once the file has arrived in required location then it will automatically trigger the datastage job.

You can place a "wait for file activity" stage onto a sequence. or you could use a scheduler as mentioned previously.
