Release Lock in "Cleanup Resources" in Director do

Post by ratuldey »

DataStage Version : Server Edn. 7.5.2
OS Platform : UNIX

I was facing a problem when trying to open a Job; a popup comes up with message "Job <jobname> is being accessed by another user".
I had then enabled the option "Enable administration in Director" in project level through Administrator.
Then I had opened Director, selected the job and gone for "Cleanup Resources" option.
In the "Job Resources" window, I had selected "Show All" in Processes window and "Show by process" in Locks window.
Then I had searched for the PID which was being locked.
The Lock Types were then displayed in the Locks window.
I clicked on "Release All". But the Locks still showed up.
I clicked on "Logout". But in vain.
The locks still show up and I'm unable to open the job in Designer.

P.S. :-
The Context and Last Command Processed for the PID was "Unavailable".
Lock Type was shown as "Record"

Is it something like, the unlocking is possible through IDs having administrative access or "dsadm" ???

You can use DS.TOOLS from the DS Administrator for releasing the Locks. Yes you need to log on as a datastage administrator.
I haven't failed, I've found 10,000 ways that don't work.
