Post by bala_135 »

Hi All,

I have installed Datastage Server on Windows 2003.
There is Sybase(12.5) database installed in another server.
Sybase Client is installed in datastage server.
Datastage clients are installed on differnt machines
ODBC drivers gievn by ascential are installed in datastage server.

When i tried to import the metadata through plugin i getting the error "Unable to intialize plugin"

Its a windows system any setting i have to do as we do in the dsenv file of unix.

Have you searched for "unable to initialize plugin"?

Hi,

I have searched for it and i have got it for unix.We can edit the file dsenv and make the corresponding entry in it restart the datastage services. But this is Windows where can we set the parameters.

Note:-There is migration(Oracle to Sysbase) in the database.Database(sybase) was installed later after datastage.Previously we were using Oracle.

Bala.

Hi All,

Anything can be done to solve this or we need to do fresh installation of DS or an upgrade.

I sincerely doubt you need 'a fresh install or an upgrade' to solve this problem, you just need to configure things properly. Being a UNIX Guy I don't know how it all works on Windows... have you verified that any environment variables needed are defined on the server? SYBASE and SYBASE_OCS from what I recall.

Other than that, I'd suggest you ask your Support provider what needs to be done and then post the answer back here.
