datastage warning

Hi folks,

I am getting this warning whenever i open the director: WARNING: Repository Interface Tracing is switched ON.

Can you please tell me what this warning means.

It means that server side tracing is enabled, which slows everything by about 10% and records trace files in the &COMO& subdirectory in the project.

Check with your administrator whether it should be ON - maybe something is being diagnosed.

Server side tracing can be enabled/disabled in the Administrator client and from the DS.TOOLS menu.

Thanks Ray. That was really helpful. I was able to see these settings thru Datastage Administrator under Tracings Tab.
