location of hash fileand seqfile

Post by parvathi »

Hi all,
while creating server jobs if we don't specify any path where will these sequential files be residing.

Is it the same location where the DSParams file is located?

Under current project folder. Yes its the place where DSParams resides.
Impossible doesn't mean 'it is not possible' actually means... 'NOBODY HAS DONE IT SO FAR'

It is not a good practive to not specify any path for the sequential file. It will clutter up the project directory and would make it difficult to manage.

Finding answers is simple, all you need to do is come up with the correct questions.

Both the sequential and hashed files are best placed in another directory, preferably one mounted on another partition/attach point. That way the DataStage directory remains uncluttered, as narasimha pointed out, but in addition it keeps the project directory from filling up to 100% and potentially breaking.
