Difference between Ferrari to Ford...
Almost all the work done by Datastage can be Perl scripts.
SAS and Datastage are both different product involved in building Data Warehousing.
Datastage is one of the superior ETL tool. SAS is one of the product which gives end to end solution. It has many products for each cases where you need to get the license of each.

Impossible doesn't mean 'it is not possible' actually means... 'NOBODY HAS DONE IT SO FAR'
Hi vijaynaidu,
I used to work for SAS in the past and what I can say is that basically DataStage and SAS are not really the same, if we want to compare them.
If you need a powerfull and intuivite ETL-EAI tool, this is DataStage
and if you need a fully complete solution, from data extraction up to cube reporting including many other tools, try to use SAS.
SAS provide also solutions for ETL and DataQuality, but then it is depending from your needs and budget.
They are also other vendors on the market offering "all in one" solutions.
Please clarify your question.

Re: differnece b/w Datastage and SAS
thks for giving ur views.
SAS is doing complete etl job and reporting both
Kumar told SAS will give end-to-end solution
so if client shoots the question why i choose Datastage instead of SAS?
reasons for datastage
1. bcz of cost
2. bcz of scalability and more
how we can suggest ?

Because of flexibility. Any vendor solution like the SAS one, or the SAP one, will tend to lock you in to that vendor's products. What happens, in three or four years, when you go through a merger or acquisition, and suddenly need to support other systems? DataStage has that flexibility.
