I have a dssendmail with an attachment that I am having a problem with -- the path of the attach contains 2 \n's -- attach:g;\tst\sdw\nww\nwwvndrxxx.txt the jobs gets to the first \n and treats it as a line feed is there any way around this.

Try forward slashes. NT is agnostic about the pathname delimiter between forward and backward slashed.

Also try using a a double slash \\ where you have \n and give it a shot.
This can check to see that you really mean to use that character, not an escape code.
