how to generate surrogate key through routine

I wanted to know how can we call and populate the input files mentioned in the folder stage in a subroutine and also is there a way to generate surrogate key ( each time the subroutine is run we can populate a unique key in the output )

Use the supplied routines (Routines\SDK\Key Management category). Don't re-invent the wheel!
