Neither is more complex than the other to speak of. Both will work to abort the Sequence. Both can log a custom message when doing so. I'd prefer the Terminator stage (if your version supports it) for a couple of reasons. First, that is the purpose it was meant to fulfill and secondly it gives you the option to send stop requests to any currently running jobs. Plus visually it makes it more obvious what is going on in the design.
