UV is not a user. UV and uv are the names of UniVerse accounts (the UniVerse equivalent of a DataStage project approximately). UniVerse uses operating system login ID as user and operating system password as password. For database fill in the name of an account (project).

I use my OS user and password, but it is wrong.
The feedback is "Could not login to database $project_name as user invalid username or password"

Nor is administrator account.

I type the project name as the database name.
Am I wrong?

Have you configured the account (project) for ODBC access using HS.ADMIN menu?

Details of this are to be found in the UniVerse ODBCmanual.

In the past days, I install a universe database on my laptop.
I access the universe dabase sucessly, but still failed to access datastage universe.

I find that X:\Ascential\DataStage\Engine\uvodbc.config network = LAN,
but X:\Ascential\DataStage\Projects\MyProject\uvodbc.config network = TCP/IP

I am confused about the two network type.
