If you cannot, reinstall DataStage (10 min). That's faster. :lol:

11.6. Losing a Pane from Designer client User Interface
Once the Designer UI on the client has been customized, it then becomes possible to lose the pane. To regain it;
1. Run regedit
2. HKEY_CURRENT_USER =>Software =>Ascential Software
3. Delete the folder (and consequently all sub-folders) DSDesign.
This will reset the Designer UI to factory freshness.

losing Repository grid in Designer

Post by datastage »

I've had this happen. The delete method just mentioned sounds like it would probably work. I ended up fixing by having another DS user export the part of the registry that stores the GUI information and I imported it in. I'm not at a computer with DS at the moment to find the registry path, but this should be another option if deleting sounds too scary.

Hi,
you can also manually change the registry entry for the position of the repository (in case you didn't just close it, then you can simply use view to make it visible).
alas I don't have the exact entry (no direct internet access here so no designer a this station :().
it should be under ascential>designer, in one of the xpos/ypos (if my memory serves me, been a while since did this)
but if you don't get this entry you could do with the suggestions you got.

by the way you support should have it :)

I have killed the registry key:
H_KEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/AscentialSoftware/DSDesigner.

I opened the designer and the repository was here

Thank you for advice
