Wow, care to focus that in a little more?DS4DRIVER wrote:Hi,

Where do you start? Ascential bought 2 companies and their technologies, bought the core technology from a third company. Stretch that to version 7 and you can throw in Mercator. Version 4 was under a company called Informix. Server job engine code branch from original source now owned by IBM.
Well, let's get the list running of major things:
1. Parallel Extender first appeared in 5.2, but was on the road to integration by 6.0. So, I guess the addition of a whole new ETL tool and framework is pretty significant.
2. Hash cache daemon for Server.
3. Job instantiation for Server
4. Installation process underwent major revision.
5. Support for many newer platform and database releases.
6. Server job engine code branch optimized, stripped down to clean and mean DS only code.
Help me out here guys.

if i may add...
7. most, if not all, of the bug-fixes (patches) done for v4.x were added into v6.x. Most notably, the memory-leak problems with OraOCI and Aggregator stages.

If you've actually got Version 6 in your hands, the 'readme' will at least explain what is new in that particular version. Perhaps someone who still has a 5.x copy laying around could check it out and post the highlights of changes from it...
