There is some discussion on the various options available in the hash file stage chapter of the Server Job Developers Guide, which comes with DataStage. In Windows, Start->Programs->Ascential DataStage->Online Manuals->DataStage Documentation. This will bring up a PDF file "menu". Click on "DataStage Server Job Developers Guide". When this "manual" opens, click on "Hashed File Stages" in the left hand window. Start reading. The important info is under "Create File Options".

There is also more discussion of hash files in the Universe documentation if you can get that.

Good Luck,
Tony

There are 20 some types of hash files. Take the default unless you want to maintain these files. Dynamic or type 30 hash files will grow and shrink as needed and are the least amount of work.

Thanks Kim.
