Hi,
I am facing some problems with oracle connectivity on Windows with DS6.0.The oracle client software is properly working I am getting an error
"ORA-12358.TNS no such protocol adapter" when i try to do import through manager.
But through designer and manager I am able to connect the same using an ODBC which i have created on DS Server. But is not happening using OCI 8 plugin. Can anybody let me know what else i can check....
Enviornment:
DS6.0 on Windows

Hi,

First of all try to connect to oracle using SQLPLUS interface from DataStage server.
My guess it won't work because of same adaptor error.
That mean you should reinstall oracle SQLPLUS client (on DataStage Server) in order to use OCI plugs.

The protocol adaptor is a dll file, it looks like it is missing or not registered. If you can turn Oracle trace on it will show you the name of the shared library (or DLL) file that could not be loaded.

Best fix is to take dtsipe's advice and reinstall the Oracle client.
