I think problem lies with having only one group..
Why don't you have multiple groups , then you can give rights to the user group on certain projects only.

DataStage's internal security mechanism is very limited and, as raviyn noted, is based on operating system group membership.
Short of fiddling with NT permissions on things, which is a real nightmare, your only approach is to create a group (or two) for each project, and limit members of these groups as appropriate.
Tie DataStage roles to operating system groups using Administrator clinet, or the hidden files operator.adm and developer.adm in your project folders.
