Error calling subroutine: DSR_Record...

Hi there,

Has anyone experienced the above error or "Error calling subroutine: DSR_Project (Action = 2). Check datastage is installed correctly for project"

Platform is NT, datastage version 4.0. Was working before, but will arbitrarily (it seems) throw up these error messages.

There are many possible causes for this kind of error, which only mean that there is some kind of failure between your DataStage client and the server. It may be that the connection is timed out (though this is usually a different message with an error code), or it may be that your client's agent process has died or cannot obtain the use of some resource it requires.
Reconnecting usually fixes the problem.
It occurs less frequently in more up to date releases of DataStage than 4.0.
