Job control process (pid 5976) has failed.

Post by sreddy666 »

Hi Friends,

I am having issue with one of my server job DataStage 8.5.

Issue: Job control process (pid 5976) has failed.

Problem is i have logout some processes from director window- job- resource clean-up, for releasing some locks.

Now job status is showing as crashed.

Please advice me how to proceed forward.
a> can i delete crashed job and re-import the same job <or> do i need to rebuild from any config file.
b> this jobs is loading data to sqlserver database. so do i need to check weather that table or tablespace or datafile is locked?
c> there are some hash files in this job. so will they be locked.

Please provide your valuable inputs..

Thanks in advance.

a> Just Reset the job. If for some reason it won't reset, use the Clear status file option. Both are done from the Director.
b> Possibly. Check with your DBA. Note you may need to manually roll back any partial loads, depending on your job design.
c> No.

Another possibility is that someone or something killed the main process of the job.
