Regarding Installation error of Infosphere 8.5 server editin

Hi Ray

We have tried installing Infosphere 8.5 server edition on Windows server 2003.

We got the below error during installation....


Installation exception:

The installation program encountered an unexpected error

com.ibm.is.install.exception.ActionException :CDIIN5075E:MKS installer: The OE installerprocess didnot return success to nutinsInstallOe()


There were there options on the same screen


1.Retry failed action

2. Continue Installation

3. Exit installation


However we had selected "continue instalaltion" and installation of Infosphere 8.5 finished succesfully.

I am not sure about this error

Can anyone please let me know whether this error will result in any problems in future?

You may find that MKS Toolkit is not correctly installed and that, therefore, you will not be able to run parallel jobs properly.

We are licensed for installing server edition(datastage,qualitystage and metadata Brokers and Bridges) only....

I have selected only to install server edition only while installing.

Can you please let me know if this error effects anything in future if we are going to use only server jobs?


I am also not sure why this errror has come.....Is there any way I can reinstall this MKS toolkit only?

You do not need MKS Toolkit for server edition only. You may safely ignore the error.

As suggested,we ignore this error,since we are using server edition only.

I have one more thing to discuss...

While Installing Infosphere 8.5. I had selected below option only

IBM Infosphere Datastage Server(select this option to develop server jobs)

I have choosen the products(IBM Infosphere Datastage,IBM Infosphere Qualitystage,IBM Infosphere Metabrokers and bridges),this is what we are licensed for.


However,when I logged into Designer,I found in the "new" list (server,parallel,sequence) options.


I wonder how did I get the option to select "new" parallel job?

Also I have all the parallel stages available (eg : lookup,join etc),which should not be there in ideal case,since I installed only server edition.
