Failed to Open Project

Post by sambitsamantray »

Hello,

When i'm running jobs in datastage 8.7 Server edition, my jobs are aborting due to the below message.

ERROR: Failed to open project

Status code = 80147

The jobs are working fine in Datastage 7.5 version. I've recently migrated them to Datastage 8.7.

Is there anything which i'm missing out while installing the new version of datastage?

If you are able to login & open/edit the job in Designer but this error during the run, i would contact support.

Can you give me any details about changes to uvconfig file so that i can ahead and try that out and see if it works out for me?

Nothing in uvconfig will affect "fail to open project".

Please share what you discover from working with support, in case it will help anyone else with the same error in the future.

I know there are specific error messages that should also be reported, but wouldn't running out of certain resources also cause the 'fail to open project' message? I've got nothing to refer to and just working from memory, thinking about the maximum number of open hashed files or something of that nature. :?

OK, got me. But, presumably, the values post migration would be set to the pre-migration values.

This 8.5 tech note may apply to 8.7 also... (no mention of uvconfig)

Even IBM provided to refer to the same link but the resolution provided in the link seems a little bit strange. If the jobs are supposed to be executed with Windows Admin privileges, then everyone will have admin privileges.

I'm not going argue with what IBM Support is telling you on this issue. Try it.

It'w working when we are having admin privileges but we got an update from the IBM support that they have identified a fix and they'll be providing us the patch to fix this issue.
