Has anybody come across the following error.

"Segmentation Violation" while executing dsjob from command line.

Probably, but without details that's about the best answer you'll get. So... one particular job? All jobs? Jobs that otherwise run fine from the GUI? Details, man.

Started from scratch and installed the whole application again.

That solved the problem. Have witnessed some undocumented problems hence feel that 8.1 is pretty unsafe.
