dataStage Telnet Service on Windows

Post by kishore2456 »

Hi,

We have DataStage8 (IIS) on Windows 2003 Server. We need to telnet to DataStage server machine. By default, telnet service is stopped and i couldn't login using DataStage telnet service. What happens if i starts windows telnet service?

When I try this scenario with DataStage 7.5 on another Windows 2003 server, i could connect to DataStage telnet server. Please advice how to connect to DataStage telnet service in IIS (dataStage8.1)

You will probably not be able to start the DataStage telnet service because the MKS Toolkit telnet daemon is already bound to port 23.

Try using a different port number, perhaps 2300.

telnet hostname 2300

Probably having only version of client would help. At that time MKSToolkit is not required. Hence 23 port could be free.
