I was using 7.5.2 version but now I have installed new version 8.1 but when Im trying to access a project on a server Im getting the following error message can anyone help me.

"Failed to authenticate the current user against the selected domain, could not connect to server xxxxx on port xxxx.

Can any one let me know how to resolve this please.

So this is an 8.x error rather then from the 7.x side, yes? Search the forums for the "Failed to" part of your message and see if anything matched posts help.

You should do a search, and it may help.

A couple of differences between 7.x and 8.x:
1) You need to follow the installation instructions EXACTLY.
2)This includes the post installation configuration stuff, mainly around linking infosphere users to Unix users
23 you need to make sure that the unix users have the correct permissions to files. Sometimes the files get created with only dsadm having access to them, rather than the group
4) see number 1
5) When in doubt, follow the installation instructions and also search around here.

Okay, I was a little facetious, but hopefully I got the point across.

Linking userid's and userid groups/permissions are very important.

Good luck, you'll like 8.1
