8.0 Client Installation failed

8.0 Client Installation failed

Hello all

I have an issue when i am trying to install Datastage 8.0 client on my system.
What happened was i was having version 7.5 on my system and along with that i have installed 8.0. It was successfull. But one day, when i tried to switch back to 7.5 multi client manager didnt work. SO i have to uninstall both 8.0 and 7.5. Later i have installed 7.5 and it was successfull. But when i tried to install 8.0, i am getting a strange warning message.
I click installe.exe and respond to all the prompt. Finally i check the "create shortcut on desktop" and when i enter next, i am getting message like

The following warnings were generated

Later i have removed all the invalid registry entries on my system and tried again to install 8.0. Result the same.
What can i do to install 8.0 on my system.
Please help.

I would go and remove all traces of any clients first. That includes going into the registry (I can't recall offhand which keys they are, probably "Vmark" or "Ascential" keyword searchs would work - and a "search" here probably would as well). Then make sure your user has admin rights to the machine and see if the errors persist.

I also have the same error with the V8.0.1 client install as well as with the V8.1 install. Did anyone already solve this issue?

I got the solution for this.

Delete whatever versions of Data stage you have on your system.
Next delete Install Shield folder in C:/Program files/Common files.
Next delete the registry keys under
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Ascential Software.

This should solve your problem.

I got the solution for this.
