Migrating DS jobs from 7.5.1. to 8.1

Hi,

We have developed all jobs in Datastage 7.5.1(server edition) in windows server. Is it possible to migrate the jobs to Datastage 8.1 (parallel edition) in LINUX server.

Since it is a different version, will there be any compatability issue. If it is there how do we take care of compatability issue.

Can anybody help on this?

Both topics - migrating from 7.x to 8.x and migrating from Windows to UNIX (or vice versa) - have been discussed here quite a bit, something a search would turn up. Also note they'll still be Server jobs, the way to migrate a Server job to a Parallel job is using wetware - i.e. a person needs to rewrite the job. The way your question was phrased, it seemed like you might think that would happen automagically.

Don't be distracted by "parallel edition" - server jobs will remain server jobs.

Have a look at the DataStage 8 Server Edition SuperFAQ for some of the issues in this upgrade.
