Difference between dscmdexport.exe & dsexport.exe

Post by loe_ram13 »

Hi,
There are basically 2 things I wanted to know.
1.Where can i see the dsexport.exe or dscmdexport.exe file & what is the difference between the two?
2.Is there any way by which I can each and every transformation logic involved directly using either dsexport.exe or some other method because we are in middle of project migration from datastage to other etl tool. That would immensely help us with documentation.
Thanks in advance,
Ramya

Ramya, dsexport.exe and dscmdexport.exe are available in your client machine itself. Just select your Ascential root folder, right click and do a search.

How to use? It is available in DS Manager documentation.
The dsexport command is a windows application and requires user interaction with message boxes. The dscmdexport command is a command line application and can be run unattended.

Both export jobs and basically one exports entire projects while the other can handle individual jobs.

dsexport.exe to export individual jobs,
dscmdexport.exe to export whole project.
