Not able to create project

Post by rverharen »

Hi there,

We deleted a project but while deleting the datastage server went down.
When trying to create the project datastage gives an error that the project already exists (although it can't be seen in the administrator).
is there a way to create the project with the same name it had?

We already stopped and started the datastage services.
We have a backup form a couple of days ago but that's the last option of witch we hope we don't have to use.

Greetings, Roy

Do an exact search for "project already exists", there are several conversations on the subject here. It won't find them all but it will find enough to get you started and you can pull new keywords to search for from them.

You are lucky in that you are still at Version 7, recovery at version 8 is much more time-consuming and complex and in certain cases you cannot recover, i.e. the project name is forever unusable unless you do a complete re-install.

Search also for VERIFY.SQL command, and UV.ACCOUNT table.

Problem solved: A loginscreen was open on the background

Post by rverharen »

Thanks for the answers.
I passed the instructions on to IT and they executed them, unfortunaltely with no result.
Apparenty the project had been fully deleted by the delete action but someone (there are a lot of datastage users) still had an open loginscreen from the director with the default selected project name of the project that had been deleted. When shutting down this loginscreen appeared.
That caused the error when trying to create the project with the original name.
