Just do it. Declare it as a parameter and enclose the parameter name in hash/pound signs in your derivation.

1. created a parameter in job parameter.
2. enclosed the parameter name in hash/pound

its not accepting

I double clicked the derivation->Browse->job Parameter (we get a list of job parameters)
i select the created parameter.

its with out a hash/pound sign

Why is not working with hash/pound sign

Where exactly you are trying to use it? Not all places need the hashes, column derivations don't. When in doubt, use the "..." Helper, it will always get it right.

Column derivation? As noted, hashes are not needed there, so it will work fine without them. Have you tried it yet? What happens?

 Tip: always use the expression editor, so that you always get the correct syntax for operators and operands.
