How to Encrypt passwords in DS Param file

Post by SREEPRABHA »

Hi,

Can anyone tell me how to encrypt the values for the password parameters in a DSParam file? What type of file is that?

It's just plain text. You can set the type as 'Encrypted' when you create them, unless you mean your own custom encryption? :?

The only way to encrypt passwords into DataStage encryption format is to use one of the GUI tools. The DataStage Administrator lets you maintain your project specific job parameters that get saved to the DSParam file. You set the parameter type to Encrypted so it gets saved in an encrypted format. ParameterSets (version 8) also have files where default parameter values get saved in encrypted format.

Please start a new post for this. And when you do, be more specific in your needs and question.
