What does the following DataStage do?
Ascential/DataStage/DSEngine/bin/dsrpcd

That's the DataStage RPC Daemon, allowing client connections to the repository. Not sure what it would have to do with a 'compile failing'. :?

Quick! Enrol in a DataStage Essentials class! Your questions indicate that you have a dearth of fundamental knowledge about the product. Knowledge that you will need to continue to be employed as a DataStage developer.

Ray I have the DS Essentails Course books - doesn't seem to cover this
