MetaData import Erro with 10g

Post by via »

All the jobs (DRS stages) were able to run with out any issues using ODBC connection.
An error is popping out only when importing metadata.
"DSR.MetaGeta(GET.TABLES)(SQLConnect('abc','xyz')): BCI Error:
SQLSTATE=08001,CODE=12154,[DataStage][SQL Client][ODBC][Microsoft][ODBC driver for Oracle][Oracle]ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified "
TNS has all the entires and when data is viewed in DRS output/input tabs, data is showing with out any issues.

I searched for similar issues and were able to verify the uvodbc.config and found out it has all the entires.

Any suggesions? :(

Have you also checked tnsnames.ora ?

Is casing as well as spelling correct?

Hello Ray,

tnsnames.ora has all the entries (spelling and casing are same) and we have no isses in connecting to database up on running a job.
This error is popping up only when importing the table def!

Are there any "funny" characters (for example "#", ,"?", etc.) in the password?
