Datastage - House keeping

Post by RelianceDss »

Hi,

At times our datastage project just hangs. We are not able to do anything, not even reset the aborted jobs. We clear the &PH& directory by CLEAR.FILE command and everything is normal.
1. Is it standard pratice to use CLEAR.FILE for clearing &PH&? If not what is the alternative?
2. Is there any check list we can maintain for regular house keeping? Basically what are the different things we need to keep track off for good administration of the project?
3. Do we have any best practice document for these things?

any help on this is appreciated.

1. Yes. Alternative is delete entries more than x days old.

2. Purge job logs. Clean up unneeded files in UVTEMP directory.

3. No.

More 2. If you use server side tracing clean these files from the &COMO& directory once you've finished with them.
