DS Installation on UNIX

Hi all,


I have installed datastage6.0 on Windows Server. But i want to install it on UNIX server. will I be able to install Datastage using the same CD or Is there a different CD which needs to be installed on different OS i.e on UNIX ???

Amit, Usually it will be same CD but not sure about 6.0 version. But why don't you try and tell us.

I cant because we still havent set up the UNIX server...so I just wanted to confirm before we set up all the things and also just to comfirm if i have to buy another CD( inspite of having one for windows) specially to install it on UNIX. I will appreciate if you guys also find out something regarding this issue.

You will not only need a different CD, you will also need a different licence.

They will probably give you the CD.

Be prepared to hand over several buckets of cash to buy the licence.

As noted, it's the license that you are paying for, the disks come free. :wink:

Last time I received a care package from the leprechauns at IBM, it came with CDROMs for all flavors of UNIX - and Windows to boot. My license only allowed me to install the H-PUX version.

All IBM media comes out of Ireland now, it seems. Hence the suspicion that leprechauns may have been enslaved to keep up with demand.
