Import Plug-in Metadata - DB2

Post by asitagrawal »

Has any one used "Import Plug-in Metadata"
to import the DSDB2 MetaData??

The problem I face is that it turns
"Not Responding" as soon as I click on Next
after specifying the necessary details.

It sounds like your plugin is not configured correctly.

Or you just have a large number of tables for it to select and you need to be patient. How long did you wait before you decided there was a problem?

Start with the Plug-In Bookshelf document - PlugDoc.pdf in your Docs directory.

Same thing. You need to have configured whichever plug-in you are using to import the metadata. It's not a separate object.

What shows in the Name column when you pick the plug-in? I don't have anything DB2 related installed here, so can't speak to exactly what is what in that regard.

I once waited more than 24 hours for the list of tables to be returned from DB2/400 (on AS/400 machine). On this platform, every file in the operating system is reported as a table. Soon learned to always specify a filter! And that was just configuring the ODBC driver.

That was something I was wondering but couldn't confirm for myself - does the "DB2 plug-in" include a Filter option?
