Cannot Connect To Oracle

Post by jshurak »

We have a few jobs that connect directly to Oracle. Since we applied the DST patches to the Datastage server yesterday, these jobs have failed. We receive two different error messages. They are as follows:

SQLSTATE=IM003, DBMS.CODE=160
[DataStage][SQL Client][ODBC]Specified driver could not be loaded due to system error 998 (Oracle in OraHome90).|

and

Error while trying to retrieve text for error ORA-12154

The ORA error is 'Failed to resolve TNS Name'

We have reinstalled the Oracle Client on the server and the jobs still fail.
Does anyone know what may be going? Any help you could provide would be great. Thanks.

I'd worry more about the 'system error 998' than the tns issue. And since this has happened post-patch, I'd suggest you contact IBM support and open a case.

Were you able to resolve this error?

If so, please share the solution. We too are facing the same problem...

I suggest that you also open a case with support. The more people it's biting, the more priority it's likely to get in IBM.
