You need to specify as to what exact NLS warning message you are getting to get more specific answers.

Change ur NLS value to ISO8859-1 . This will work the example you mention.

The "?" in the string is the character that could not be mapped. You need to make sure that you are using a map that can handle all of the characters in your data.
