Hi,
Can u pls clarify me regarding the differences b/w stored procedures and plug-ins?which one is more favourable?why do we have two such entities?

A stored procedure is an object in a database. It can be used from various clients and SQL-based tools.

"Plug-in" in DataStage means "optionally installed". A plug-in stage can perform any task, not necessarily a database-related task.

Some plug-in stages ship with the product, others require additional licensing (for example to access SAP data), and you can even write your own.
